Downtown Minneapolis detours
The City of Minneapolis is rebuilding Marquette Avenue and 2nd Avenue South.
The project will enhance the speed, capacity and comfort of transit service and make downtown more pedestrian-friendly. About 60 express bus routes will travel on the reconstructed transit corridor starting in December.
Here’s what you’ll see when the project is finished:
-
new streets with a second bus-only lane
-
buses will be able to pass one another – fewer delays!
-
new, wider sidewalks
-
larger, more comfortable shelters with real-time bus arrival info
-
updated street design with improved lighting
